Not just the school, but the ENTIRE district! My city is run by idiots I tell you. We still have not heard about our paychecks and there was a meeting today to try to get things straightened out. I hope they work it out soon because we need to work and the students need their education!

we are having education cutbacks here in Australia but can't imaging a school just closing like that.

I am so with you. See my last blog post.

My theory? It's the late spring break this year. I'm sorry, but teaching requires a LOT of patience, and going this long without a break from all the human interaction is KILLING ME.

I'd even be happy to come in and do paperwork all day - for more hours than a regular teaching day - if I could just get a break from all the CONSTANT neediness of the kids. Who I LOVE, for sure, but they're just wearing on me. Plus, I'm doing these two tutoring programs at once, which is rapidly leading me to burn-out.

I say this every year, but next year, when my car is paid off, I'm cutting one of my after-school responsibilities.

Ok, great! I found it incredibly liberating to do a complete evaluation of my financial situation.

I'm in the process of re-evaluating my own financial plan, and am starting to think that I disagree with Dave Ramsey on certain points, also. However, one thing that I really do agree with is tackling debts one at a time. If you overpay on all of them at once it feels like you're not getting anywhere; I think it's way better to attack one at a time.

Also - in my humble opinion! - $300 is a little low. If $1000 seems too daunting, maybe $500 is a happy medium.

Hi Confused! I've been reading back through some of your archives, and I feel like there are some gaps in the information you're giving about your finances. Maybe this is intentional and I don't mean to pry! I just saw a lot of benefit from blogging about EVERYTHING financial because I got so many great ideas/responses/advice from my readers.

Personal finance blogging can be incredibly rewarding and helpful. Maybe you could give us a comprehensive update on all your financials? Just an idea, though - I love your blog either way :)

Me, I put it all on a CC so I can track it, then I pay each amount off, so it's like a debit card
