Part of me feels as if moving home will be a way for me to let go of my responsibilities as an adult. I feel that being 27 years old, I should step up and deal with my mistakes. I also think about living with my mom before and how frustrating it was for me. Being in loud situations is not for me. Then there is the dog too. Last time I was at my mom's I had severe allergies to him, which is weird because before I did not.
Despite all of my negative feelings, when I think of moving home, I still think about $1000 to put on my truck each month. I was talking with my friend the other day, and he said to me that moving home would be a bad idea. He is very familiar with my home situation and also said that when I get home, I'm going to think about all the extra money I have and that I'm going to want to go out of town more and spend money on clothes. When I thought about it, it really makes sense. I can see myself spending instead of saving.
So what are your thoughts about moving home with my mom?

I think you should move back home with your mom. I know you had problems with her asking you for money when you were living with her before. I also see where your friend is coming from with saying that you will spend the money you are supposed to be saving, but I think it is worth you trying. Right now you are paying $1K in rent. Before moving in with your mother you should have a discussion about bills. IMO you should say "Look Mom, I would like to move back home because I'm struggling to pay my bills and improve my financial situation. Here is what I can do. I will pay X or Y bill and provide MY OWN FOOD and toiletries, but I can not afford to do more than that." This is saying to her upfront "Don't ask me to pay the electricity until you get paid next week!" I know your won't be saving the full $1,000, but this should leave you with at least $700 to save. You just really need to get yourself in check and have some discipline. It's hard, but doable.
Thanks for your comment B.D. I feel like I will end up moving back home because that is the only way that I will be able to get out of my truck sooner. I plan on gradually spending more time at home to determine if I can really handle it before my lease is up.
